Support for the Outermost Regions
Given the outermost context of Madeira and the Azores and the consequent limitation of natural resources, POSEI aims to help operators located in these regions to acquire certain goods, through exemption from import duties or aid in acquiring these goods from another European Union Member State.
Support with registration and application
For an operator to benefit from POSEI, they must register in the system and subsequently submit an annual application for each campaign. We support companies in this process, detailing the necessary conditions and the respective mandatory documents.
Certificate requests
One of the stages to benefit from the support is the request to issue the certificate, in which, after validation, a certain quantity of a given product is blocked for a defined period:
- Aid: grants the right to benefit from an amount per kg when acquiring the supported goods, when purchased within the European Union.
- Exemption: exemption from customs duties on the import of the supported goods, when coming from a third country.
Attribution
The second stage of the process is attribution, in which the support is realized by attributing the certificate when it is in a condition to be controlled by the customs offices:
- PIP: request to attribute an aid certificate.
- DAU: customs declaration that materializes the attribution of an exemption certificate.
Dispatch/Export requests
When the operator intends to dispatch or export goods that previously benefited from POSEI, a request must be made and, where applicable, the aid received returned.
